Thought I'd stick this weird drawly fuzz driven classic up for your listening pleasure. For anyone that's not heard this it's an absolute treat, and I would advise tracking down the album.

The entire album was later reworked by 101 Strings on 'Astro Sounds From Beyond 2000', from what I can tell it was essentially the same tracks with string overdubs - which adds another dimension altogether.

As is my understanding the same tracks appear on The Haircuts and the Impossibles - Call It Soul !. I'm not 100% sure of the correct chronological order for these 3 albums, but they are all worth your time.

Give it a listen. You'll be pleasantly surprised if you haven't heard it, and if you have heard it, you'll be pleasantly reminded.

This mix started life as a bigger project to circumnavigate the globe musically, which was more than likely too large a task. Eventually I got impatient with trying to piece it all together and so started to cull off a number of tracks.

What we have here is the finished article, a 30 minute travelogue and tribute to the novelty of air travel in the 70's.

I have been listening to a lot of Biker soundtracks recently, and there are none quite as good as 'Hell's Belles'.

Like a lot of soundtrack albums it's not 100% perfect, some of it hasn't dated brilliantly, but it's well worth a listen for 'Hot Wind', the magnificent 'Chain Fight' and the mighty 'Hogin' Machine'.

There's something compelling about this track. I was listening through one headphone, and since it's mostly stereo seperated the drums and electric piano sounded for a little bit like it was The Mice Parade or some similar Post-Rock ish band.

There are samples to be had from this one I suspect. Lovely break in the middle.

I don't know if you can tell but I had an immense amount of fun doing this mix. It seems to be a tribute to fuzz guitar and wah wah pedal as much as it's a tribute to Pinky Violence / Yakuza style soundtracks from the mid to late 60's to the early to mid 70's.

If you haven't explored the genre of Japanese Soundtracks I strongly suggest that you do, there is a wealth of interesting music - Toshiaki Tsushima being one of the masters, also Hajime (So or Sou) Kaburagi.

Information is difficult to come by, just as much as the music is since the original text is Japanese - most of these soundtracks have been re-issued via Ultra-Vybe (Solid Records, Hotwax) and a lot of the tracks are doubled up on the amazing 'Go! Cinemania' compilations.
