Wallace Collection - My Way of Loving You

Wallace Collection - My Way of Loving You / Stay (1971)
Wallace Collection - My Way of Loving You (France, 1971)

From the Soundtrack to 'Un Beau Monstre' which is shared with Georges Garvarentz and also includes the wonderful 'Haschisch Party'.

Wallace Collection are most well known for writing 'Daydream' which became somewhat of a trip hop anthem, although not as widely sampled as the Gunter Kallmann Chorus version.

'My Way of Loving You' is an excellent sitar mod stomper and deserving of repeated listens in my most humble opinion.

Barış Manço & Kaygisizlar - Trip (To A Fair)

Baris Manco & Kaygisizlar - Karanlıklar İçinde / Trip (To A Fair) [Sayan - FS-180]
Barış Manço & Kaygisizlar - Trip (To A Fair) (1968, Turkey)

There are some songs that just grab you when you listen to them, and this is definitely one of them.

I think I've professed my love of Baris Manco before, and I'm sure you'll agree this is a corker of a song. It's very reminiscent of something else - I get the feeling that it's like a Turkish version of the The First Editions 'Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)'.

Let me know what you think.

Vinyl Miners - Taurus Beta

Absolutely fantastic mix by Vinyl Miners on mixcloud. There is no track listing, so for all you enthusiasts of library, early electronica, 60's & 70's obscuriosities and dusty outsider music you can have some fun trying to spot the tracks. I did.

Please give it a listen or visit http://vinylminers.tumblr.com/ for more of the same quality mixing. As with my minor tirade on the DJ Alfonso post, it's nice to be appreciated so please show some support for the people trying to keep this music alive.

Enjoy.

Gary Walker & the Carnabeats

Gary Walker & the Carnabeats - Cutie Morning Moon (Phillips FS 1041 - 1968)

Gary Walker & the Carnabeats - Cutie Morning Moon (Japan, 1968)

Strange Gary Walker and Carnabeats collaboration which was a Japan only released. Interestingly it was co written and produced by Scott. Apparently Scott played bass on this as well. Well worth a listen, nice tune with a little bit of psyche groove about it.

Enter the House of Terror with September 70

Did you ever wonder what was behind the door of that boarded up old house? A hollow shell of brick and timber where the sounds of laughter and life that once filled it’s walls with warmth and hope has now been replaced with the creaks and groans of unrest and despair.
When you pass, for a fleeting second, you think you see a face at the window. But that can’t be, can it? No one has lived there for years. It’s a home in disrepair, unoccupied and alone. It’s a house that has lost it’s very essence, a house that has lost a soul.
This time, for some unknown reason, you decide to try the door. To your surprise it opens easily under your touch. The first thing that hits you upon stepping into the building is the smell. It’s the smell of neglect, and under that is the sweet sickly odour of past decay. Maybe there’s a dead rat behind the walls? Yes, that’s got to be it.
With a growing sense of unease you walk slowly down the hall toward another closed door. A chill runs down your spine, your skin begins to feel prickly with gooseflesh and you can’t shake the sudden sense of foreboding. You’ve seen enough old 70’s horror movies to know that this wasn’t your best idea.  You curse your all so human curiosity and put your fears to one side.
You can hear a hissing and crackling coming from the room ahead.  It sounds very much like the pops of static. After what seems an eternity you reach the door. You push it open tentatively only to see an old record player sitting in the centre of an otherwise empty room. You lift the arm from the runoff and place the needle back at the beginning of the dusty record, sit on the bare floorboards and start to listen…..
